Cherry Tree School
(Barnwood Park School Limited)

At Cherry Tree School at The Oaks School, education is about more than academic progress — it’s about nurturing the whole child.

Rooted in the Renaissance vision, Cherry Tree School in Barnwood, Gloucester, provides a stable, calm and positive learning environment where every pupil is truly known, valued and supported. Each child is encouraged to develop at their own pace, with learning carefully shaped around their individual needs, interests and strengths.

Our experiential academic curriculum makes learning meaningful and engaging. Teaching is practical, hands‑on and relevant, helping pupils to build confidence as well as knowledge. Alongside this, our therapeutic approach ensures emotional wellbeing is prioritised, enabling pupils to feel safe, regulated and ready to learn.

At Cherry Tree School, pupils access a bespoke and enriching curriculum designed to spark curiosity, nurture talents and unlock potential for children with SEMH needs. Learning extends beyond the classroom, with pupils benefiting from a wide range of teaching approaches and real‑world experiences, including:

  • Active Citizens projects that develop responsibility, teamwork and essential life skills

  • Forest School sessions that promote resilience, independence and a strong connection to nature

  • Educational visits that bring learning to life and broaden horizons

By combining academic challenge, therapeutic support and inspiring experiences, Cherry Tree School empowers pupils to rediscover a love of learning, build self‑belief and prepare confidently for their next steps.

At Cherry Tree School at The Oaks School, we ensure every child is given the time, care and opportunity needed to succeed academically, socially and emotionally.

Cherry Tree School is currently under renovation to add our specialist classrooms, warmth and stimulating outdoor areas.
