TAXAL LODGE
Whaley Bridge, High Peak
Originally built in 1904, Taxal Lodge was the home of Lt. Col. H. Ramsden Jodrell, who lived there until his passing in 1950. The property later became a special education school for children with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.

After closing in 2005, the site remained vacant, with a fire in 2010 causing significant damage to the outbuildings.

Today, Renaissance Education envisions restoring Taxal Lodge and its surrounding 4 acres of land to its historic beauty, while introducing a unique academic approach to special education.

Our mission is to serve the children and families of Derbyshire, blending heritage with innovation to create a nurturing and inspiring learning environment.
